Free University of Tbilisi was founded in 2007 through the merger of two most ranked high educational institutions - ESM Tbilisi and Tbilisi Institute of Asia and Africa.

Since 2007, Free University of Tbilisi has opened two new schools: Law School and School of Computer Science and Mathematics (MACS). University building of international standards has been built and educational environment has been completely updated.
