Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role, based in Tbilisi, for a Technical Director. The Technical Director will oversee technical operations, lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, and drive technical strategy in alignment with the company`s goals. Responsibilities include guiding research and development (R&D), supervising software development initiatives, managing diverse projects, and ensuring the alignment of technical deliverables with client needs and regulatory standards. The Technical Director will also work closely with other leadership teams to foster innovation and support the long-term growth and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
** Project Portfolio Management: Lead multiple concurrent solar projects (10 KW - 100 MW), defining timelines, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
** Technical Leadership: Serve as the final technical authority, validating system designs (DC/AC sizing, PR, losses) and approving electrical designs, layouts, and BoQs.
** Field Coordination: Manage Technical Engineers, Energy Experts, and Site Supervisors while overseeing installation quality and HSE compliance.
** Procurement & Optimization: Work with procurement on supplier selection, technical specs, and cost benchmarking to optimize equipment costs and installation efficiency.
** Stakeholder Management: Act as the technical face of the company with clients, investors, and regulators.
** Commissioning: Oversee testing, performance validation (PR, output), and final handover to the maintenance and warranty teams.
Qualifications
** Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Energy Engineering, or Project Management.
** Experience: 5+ years in EPC projects and construction/energy infrastructure.
** Project History: Must have managed multi projects.
** Leadership: Strong decision-making skills, a high accountability mindset, and the ability to manage multiple teams and contractors.
** Candidate Profile: We are looking for a "builder" with significant field experience
Success Metrics (KPIs)
Technical Director
** Project Delivery: >95% of projects delivered on time and within budget.
** Technical Performance: Average PR (Performance Ratio) ≥ 80-85%.
** Financial: Cost variance per project
** lt Quality Safety: Zero major safety incidents and a defect rate at handover
