Engineering Manager Full-time
Our stack:
** Laravel (API-first architecture)

We operate across multiple countries with distributed teams and are entering a new phase of maturity: stronger engineering governance, predictable delivery, architectural discipline, and high accountability.
To support this transition, we are hiring a strong Engineering Manager in Tbilisi.
The Role:
This is not a senior developer role with extra meetings.
This is a people, delivery and accountability role.
You will be responsible for:
** Leading 1-3 cross-functional development teams
** Ensuring predictable sprint delivery
** Raising engineering standards
** Enforcing clarity in refinement & scope
** Creating transparency in capacity and planning
** Developing engineers into professionals
You report to the CTO and work closely with:
** Product Manager
** Systems Architect
** Scrum Master
** Other engineering leads
Your Responsibilities:
1. Delivery & Execution:
** Ensure sprint commitments are realistic and met
** Guard scope discipline
** Drive structured refinement practices
** Improve estimation accuracy
** Remove delivery bottlenecks
** Create visibility in workload & velocity
2. Engineering Governance:
** Enforce coding standards and review discipline
** Ensure architectural decisions are respected
** Maintain technical quality and security awareness
** Ensure proper documentation and handovers
3. People Management:
** 1-on-1s with engineers
** Performance reviews
** Development plans
** Hiring & onboarding
** Address underperformance decisively
4. Process & Agile Maturity:
** Strengthen Scrum / LeSS adoption
** Improve refinement quality
** Reduce waste in development cycles
** Increase ownership in teams
** Push teams from "execution mode" to "professional engineering culture"
What We Are Looking For:
Mandatory:
** 7+ years software development experience
** 3+ years leading engineering teams
** Strong knowledge of:
o Laravel (or similar backend frameworks)
o Modern JS frameworks (Vue preferred)
o API-based architecture
** Experience managing distributed teams
** Strong communication skills (English required)
** Ability to hold engineers accountable
** Strong Plus
** Experience in regulated environments (finance, compliance, SaaS)
** Experience scaling teams from 5 → 15+ engineers
** Experience in ISO/security-aware environments
** Experience with performance management
