The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), as an Implementing Agency of the Climate Smart Irrigation Sector Development Program (CSISDP) is soliciting applications for the position of Gender Specialist.

The project implementation unit (PIU) is looking for Gender Specialist, who will support overall tasks of the projects related to Gender issues.

The Consultant shall be responsible for:

(i) Develop and maintain monitoring tools for gender indicators, including timelines and procedures for integration into the project performance monitoring system (PPMS)
(ii) Collect analyze, and report gender-related data for inclusion in project progress reports
(iii) Update and lead the implementation of the GAP of the project
(iv) Strengthen capacity of PIU staff and project stakeholders to implement gender-responsive activities.
(v) Monitor the execution of gender activities and ensure adherence to targets. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure the GAP is implemented effectively.
(vi) Document and disseminate lessons learned and best practices.
(vii) Provide inputs, data, and information related to gender to the PPMS and to project progress reports and the PCR.
(viii) Support training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing on gender mainstreaming for PIU staff and local stakeholders
(ix) Provide guidance on gender-responsive planning, implementation, and monitoring practices.

The individual consultant shall meet the following qualification and experience requirements:

1. The successful applicant shall meet the following minimum requirements:

Qualification A degree in in Social Science, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
General experience At least 7 years of experience in gender mainstreaming.
Specific experience Minimum 3 years previous experience in developing and implementing Gender Action Plans and monitoring social and gender indicators, preferably within a project of ADB or other international development organization.
Skills Thorough knowledge gender issues and best practices in development projects
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency in English language.

The consultant will be engaged initially for 12 months period, with possibility of contract extension.
Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultants Recruitment procedures set out in Asian Development Banks guidelines.
