Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maritime Agency Manager to lead and oversee our agency`s operations in Georgia, with a strong focus on commercial management and business development. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in maritime agency services, strong relationships with shipping lines, port authorities, and local stakeholders, and a sharp eye for identifying commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management:
** Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
** Identify and pursue new business opportunities with shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters, and offshore clients.
** Prepare and negotiate contracts, agency agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
** Monitor market conditions and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
** Manage pricing strategies, cost structures, and profit margins.
Agency Operations Oversight:
** Ensure smooth coordination of port agency services, including vessel clearance, documentation, and turnaround.
** Liaise with port authorities, customs, immigration, and terminal operators to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
** Manage the coordination between vessel owners/operators, local service providers, and crew.
Team Leadership & Administration:
** Lead, train, and motivate the agency team to deliver high-quality service and meet KPIs.
** Monitor and report on agency performance, budgets, and financial targets.
** Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Client Relationship Management:
** Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
** Act as the main point of contact for key clients during port calls and commercial negotiations.
** Resolve client issues and escalate when necessary to maintain service excellence.
Qualifications:
** Bachelor`s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
** Minimum 5 years of experience in maritime agency management or port operations.
** Strong knowledge of port procedures, shipping documentation, and vessel husbandry.
** Proven track record in business development and commercial negotiation.
** Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
** Fluency in English; Georgian or Russian is an advantage.
** Proficiency in maritime management software and MS Office.
