The Peace Corps is a U.S. Agency working in over 60 countries around the world. The Peace Corps established a program in Georgia in 2001 at the invitation of the Government of Georgia. As a non-political, non-commercial, and non-religious agency, Peace Corps Georgia contributes to the expressed social and economic development needs of Georgia while promoting a better understanding between Americans and Georgians. In 2001, the first group of 21 Volunteers worked alongside Georgian teachers in secondary education English teaching assignments. Since that time, over 900 Volunteers have served in Georgia, exchanging skills with their Georgian counterparts, supervisors, and community members; sharing American culture; and bringing a part of Georgian culture back home to the United States. The 22nd group of Volunteers will arrive in April 2025. All Volunteers will complete an 11-week intensive Pre-Service Training (PST) in Georgia before beginning their service.
Peace Corps Georgia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of:
Georgian Language and Inter-Cultural Facilitator (LICF).

March 12 - July 3, 2025
• March 12 - March 31 in Tbilisi (Training of Trainers, Preparation, Orientation Week)
• April 1 - June 27 in surrounding communities of Gori (PST main phase)
• June 30 - July 3 (Swearing-In Ceremony in Tbilisi, PST wrap-up)
The LICF works closely with a small group of Trainees throughout the duration of PST. They conduct Georgian language classes, following a prescribed curriculum, and effectively uses a variety of language training techniques, methodologies, and activities. LICFs work closely with the Language and Inter-Cultural Coordinator (LICC) and the Language and Inter-Cultural Assistant (LICA) to design, plan, deliver, and evaluate inter-cultural training activities both at the main training venue and at individual training communities. LICFs participate in the evaluation of the language training program and the overall assessment of Trainees` language performance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
** Participates in all Training of Trainer (TOT) sessions and activities prior to PST. This includes a General TOT Program with all staff as well a Language Proficiency Interview and Language TOT during which the language team will prepare the strategy and scope of the language training program;
** Teaches Georgian language and culture classes to a small group of Trainees using a variety of communicative approaches and interactive learning methods. Classes will be taught at the Trainees` training village or town for approximately four hours per day;
** Prepares language training sessions, materials, and resources in coordination with the LICC and LICA;
** Assists the LICC and LICA with the preparation of materials, sessions, and activities for the inter-cultural component of training. Helps to identify resources, guest speakers, possible excursion sites, and more;
** Provides regular and consistent feedback to Trainees concerning language acquisition and performance and inter cultural adjustment. In coordination with the LICC, LICA and Training Manager, designs and implements assessment and evaluation tools to be used to gauge Trainees` proficiency levels;
** Is accessible to Trainees outside of scheduled sessions to provide linguistic and/or cultural information/insight. Strives to present objective, unbiased views on Georgian tradition and practices and encourages Trainees to seek out answers to their own questions;
** Participates in all PST staff meetings, providing detailed feedback and comments on Trainees` performance and adjustment at site, makes recommendations for training improvements, including staff morale;
** Documents Trainee performance in language and culture training to inform decisions to recommend or not recommend that a Trainee become a Peace Corps Volunteer;
** Submits Trainee evaluations and thorough weekly reports in a timely manner. Contributes to the final language training report, documenting all lessons and activities for use in the future;
** Is a model of cultural integration, and is respectful of local customs by representing Peace Corps in a positive manner on all occasions, and respecting the productive relationship already established by post and its staff;
** Acts as a Safety Warden of the training village, which includes certain duties and responsibilities in Safety and Security;
** As member of training staff, ensures the timely implementation of programs and schedules, and follows PC regulations in case of emergency;
** Supports host/resource family program by acting as a liaison between trainees and host/resource families.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
** University degree (preferably in Georgian, English or relevant field);
** Background and experience in teaching or tutoring (at least 3 years);
** Knowledge of modern teaching methodology (group-work, interactive method, and learning activities, etc.)
** Knowledge of Georgian national history and cultural values and practices; familiarity with Georgian regional customs and traditions;
** Fluency in written and spoken Georgian and English;
** Intermediate level of competency in using MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
** Prior experience working for International Organizations, especially with similar training programs;
** Prior Experience in working in inter-cultural teams, including Trainees and staff;
** Prior experience working with Americans and/or experience living abroad;
** Basic experience in Learning Management System (LMS) platforms and/or virtual facilitation.

** Staff must live full-time in the training site for a period of 11 weeks and attend orientation training which will be held in Tbilisi. Staff should arrange accommodation in Tbilisi on their own, the Peace Corps will provide accommodation in Gori, as needed.
