Energy Company is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Electrical Engineer.
Role synopsis:
The role requires a combination of office-based work (up to 75%) and frequent visits to remote operational facilities with overnight stays (up to 25%). It involves working in an industrial environment, predominantly in high electrical and magnetic fields. Electrical Engineer is required to be on-call and/or ready for immediate support 24/7 for urgent operational issues, which adds excessive mental stress during high-stake situations, particularly when making quick decisions affecting, personal and process safety within the operations.

Key accountabilities:
Discipline Management
** Coaches Junior Electrical Engineers
** Participates in the Electrical Engineering meetings (forums, conferences, HQ hosted venues)
Operating Discipline
** Ensures operating discipline on activities specific to the Area Electrical Engineering role to sustain safe, reliable and compliant operations
** Provides input into gap assessments
** Ensures Area Electrical Engineering risks are understood, controlled and continuously reduced, to deliver safe operating results
** Supports conformance with Company and regulatory requirements
Risk Management, Process Safety and Integrity
** Provides daily Electrical Engineering support to operations team and is the first point of contact for any Electrical engineering query from the operations team. Provide support related to Electrical Engineering issues
** Supports delivery of process safety, integrity and environmental performance of the Area
** Ensures the Electrical Engineering information is up to date in the Area risk register including actions and due dates
** Acts as initiator, coordinator or reviewer for Electrical Engineering related technical management of change.
** Participates in operations related risk assessments and longer-term engineering studies e.g. HAZOPs and PHSSERs where required
** Provides review & technical input for operating procedures as requested by the Engineering Manager.
** Monitor key Electrical Engineering related key performance indicators (KPIs) for Area
** Ensures Area Electrical engineering documents are up to date e.g. Isometrics, P&ID`s, Electrical equipment lists, equipment layout, data sheets etc.
** Performs routine Electrical Engineering calculations.
** Review or propose changes to Electrical Engineering data sheets when required
** Ensure appropriate Electrical Engineering, practices & industry codes are adhered to when modifications are being made in the Area
** Provide technical advice to Maintenance to support the procurement/use of suitable and certified materials.
Performance Management, Production Optimisation and Plant Reliability
** Attends the production meetings and perform responsibilities associated to production efficiency improvement and defect elimination procedure
** Provides input into Area defect elimination, initiates RCFAs for Electrical related production losses and identifies production vulnerabilities
** Participates and provides input into Engineering Manager meeting cadence as required
** Supports Engineering Manager to analyze Area performance data and to create interventions as required
** Participate in CI initiatives where relevant
** Participate in area performance reviews when requested
** Communicates Electrical Engineering lessons learned to Site Personnel.
Planning & Efficient Execution of Work
** Provides input to ensure gate criteria readiness for activities entering the Area 12wk plans are enforced
** Delivery of Installation modifications and repairs (less than Small Project type activities) as agreed between Operations and Engineering Manager.
** Supports Engineering Manager to ensure effective Cost management of the agreed budgets for activities assigned
Self-verification
** Conduct self-verification on key operations and engineering processes and procedures as required e.g. Isolations, MOC compliance, CoW, Electrical Engineering standards being followed etc. Follows up on actions and observations from self-verification checks that are related to Electrical engineering.
** Conduct annual self-verification of Electrical elements.
Essential Education and Qualifications:
** Higher degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
** 8+ years of experience working in the oil and gas sector.
** Member of the international and/or regional professional institution (IET, Engineering Council, etc.)
** Strong knowledge of Electrical systems, including compressors, pumps, and pressure vessels.
** Experience in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and troubleshooting.
** Excellent risk management and change management skills.
** Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
