Proxied is looking for a Team Lead - iGaming Game Studio (m/f/d) .

About us:
We`re building a new B2B iGaming studio that develops high-quality slot and casino games for international operators - from the first game concept through math and art direction all the way to a shippable product under a B2B licence. We`re starting with a blank slate: lean structures, short decision paths, real ownership instead of corporate politics.
We`re looking for exactly one person to build this studio operationally, lead the creative and technical team, and bring our first titles to market. Whoever joins here will shape not just projects, but the DNA of the entire studio.
Your role:
As Team Lead, you own project leadership within the studio. You steer game production from concept to release, lead an interdisciplinary team of 2D artists, animators and frontend/game developers, and make sure every project ships on time, on budget and to the right quality bar.
In doing so, you act in accordance with the directives of management, translating strategic guidance into concrete, achievable production plans. At the same time, we`re not looking for a pure administrator: you bring your own ideas, your own know-how and a clear quality standard, and you drive the studio forward technically.
A central part of your role is the technical assessment of talent - particularly in Spine 2D and PixiJS. You can evaluate candidates on a technical level, assess portfolios and codebases, judge work samples, and tell the difference between someone who truly delivers at a senior level and someone who doesn`t.
Your responsibilities:
** Project leadership across multiple game productions in parallel - from scoping and milestone planning through to final delivery
** Technical and disciplinary leadership of the studio team (art, animation, frontend/game dev); building and scaling the team through the growth phase
** Executing the directives of management and aligning closely on roadmap, priorities and budgets
** Technical assessment and selection of Spine 2D artists and PixiJS developers: interviews, code and portfolio reviews, test tasks, onboarding evaluation
** Defining and optimising the production pipeline (asset workflow Spine 2D → PixiJS integration, version control, performance budgets, build processes)
** Quality assurance: ensuring performance, visual consistency and cross-platform stability (web/mobile)
** Bringing your own technical input: introducing best practices, new tools, engines and techniques; actively shaping game features and the studio`s visual language - Acting as the interface between management, math/game design and production - including clear communication in both directions
** Observing regulatory requirements in B2B iGaming (e.g. MGA / relevant licensing frameworks) in collaboration with compliance
Your profile:
Must-haves
** Several years of experience leading game productions or studio/production teams, ideally in casino/slot games or comparable 2D web games
** Solid technical depth in PixiJS (rendering, performance optimisation, sprite/texture handling, build pipeline) - deep enough to assess code and architecture independently - Strong understanding of Spine 2D (skeletal animation, mesh deformation, export and integration workflow) - sufficient to evaluate and lead animators on a technical level - Demonstrated ability to assess technical talent (interviews, reviews, test tasks) and build teams
** Strong project management: milestones, resources, budgets, risks
** Clear, reliable communication - fluent English (German a plus)
Nice-to-haves:
** Experience with Phaser, alternative 2D engines or TypeScript-based game frameworks - Knowledge of iGaming/slot mechanics (RNG, RTP, math models, feature design) and the B2B delivery model to operators
** Understanding of the regulatory landscape (MGA, other licensing regimes)
** Experience in studio setup or an early-stage startup environment
** An eye for art direction and visual quality
