Ad title: Treasury Operations Analyst
Provided By: GFMTA
Published: 08 May / Deadline: 08 June
GFMTA is looking for Treasury Operations Analysts to join the Treasury Operations Center for the Shared Treasury Management System (TMS) project. The TMS is a shared, multi-tenant deployment of Nasdaq Calypso, hosted on National Bank of Georgia (NBG) infrastructure, serving six Georgian commercial banks. The project is now entering active implementation.

The Treasury Operations Center is GFMTA`s first line of response for all Calypso production issues. Analysts triage incoming issues from banks, resolve where possible, and escalate to Nasdaq or NBG (Level 2/3) where not. These are permanent positions that begin during the implementation phase - giving successful candidates the opportunity to learn Calypso directly from the Nasdaq delivery team and from GFMTA`s Senior Treasury Lead before the platform goes live.

The role reports to the Treasury Operations Manager and forms part of a small, specialist team. It offers a genuinely valuable career development opportunity: analysts who join at implementation will emerge with deep, hands-on Calypso and bank treasury operations expertise that is rare in the Georgian market.

Engagement Terms:

** Engagement type: Permanent, full-time, on-site employment with GFMTA
** Reports to: Treasury Operations Manager
** Start requirement: Immediate - Before implementation begins - ramp-up during the Execution phase is essential

Key Responsibilities:

During Implementation

** Shadow the Nasdaq implementation team; attend sprint deliveries and validation sessions to build working knowledge of Calypso configuration and treasury workflows.
** Participate in the structured knowledge transfer program led by the Senior Treasury Lead.
** Begin contributing to issue triage and knowledge base documentation as platform familiarity develops.

During Validation

** Perform first-line issue triage during SIT and UAT for Bank 1.
** Log, categorize, and route defects; distinguish configuration issues from software defects.
** Escalate to Nasdaq Level 2 where resolution exceeds Level 1 capability.

From Go-Live

** Provide permanent Level 1 support to all six participating banks; manage the daily support queue under the direction of the Treasury Operations Manager.
** Maintain Calypso configuration documentation and knowledge base articles so recurring issues are resolved at Level 1 without Nasdaq escalation over time.
** Support each bank`s rollout cycle during progressive deployment.
** Liaise with NBG`s infrastructure team on environment-related issues affecting Calypso availability.

Required Competences:

Essential

** Solid understanding of treasury asset classes — including FX, fixed income, money market instruments, derivatives, and repo/securities finance — at a level sufficient to follow and assess business-level issues. This knowledge may come from academic study, professional qualifications (CFA, ** ACI, or equivalent), or prior exposure in an analytical or back-office role; direct front-office experience is not required.
** Analytical mindset and structured approach to problem-solving: ability to read a reported issue, break it down logically, and document it clearly. Experience with any issue tracking or helpdesk tool (JIRA, ServiceNow, or equivalent) is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
** Familiarity with the mechanics of trade settlement, payment flows, and financial messaging concepts (SWIFT MT/MX). A conceptual understanding is sufficient — operational expertise will be built on the job.
** English proficiency sufficient for written communication with Nasdaq support teams; Georgian required for communication with bank staff.
** Genuine interest in financial technology and willingness to develop deep, hands-on expertise in the ** Calypso platform during the implementation phase. The Calypso knowledge is built entirely on the job — no prior platform experience is expected.

Desirable

** Academic background in finance, economics, banking, or a related field.
** Exposure to treasury or capital markets operations in any capacity — internship, back-office, or analytical role.
** Familiarity with any TMS or capital markets platform (Calypso, Murex, Kondor, Finastra, or equivalent), even at a conceptual level.
** Basic familiarity with IFRS 9 classification and measurement of financial instruments.

What Success Looks Like:

The analyst joins with strong theoretical foundations and leaves the implementation phase with hands-on Calypso expertise built directly alongside the Nasdaq delivery team. From go-live, they handle real issues from live institutions, resolve the majority without escalation, and grow more capable with every case. Within a year of go-live, they are a genuine Calypso specialist - a profile that is rare in the Georgian market and valuable well beyond this role.
