Duration of Contract: one year fixed-term (with possibility of extension)
Probation Period: six months
Gross Annual Salary: 28, 630 USD
Location: Tbilisi, Georgia, with regular travel to field sites across Western Georgia

Hours of Work: This is a part-time position, working 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday. These hours may vary depending on the requirements of the field work.
Purpose:
The Biodiversity & Scientific Coordinator (BSC) will provide biodiversity and scientific technical and strong leadership and field coordination/implementation support to our Ridge to Reef programme in Western Georgia and across the Caucasus/Black Sea Basin region. The BSC will work closely with the Fauna & Flora team and partners to strengthen and expand the scientific and biodiversity components of the programme. This includes: developing, implementing, standardizing, conducting/overseeing year-round field research; liaising with partners on genetic analyses; conducting basic data analysis; contributing and where relevant, leading publications; supporting partner capacity through training where relevant; and collaborating to build and maintain national, regional, and international partnerships. The role will also contribute to the development of action plans and long-term conservation visions, leading on these where they relate to scientific and biodiversity priorities. In certain projects, you will take an active role in designing and implementing new research and monitoring frameworks and associated action plans. Where needed, you will facilitate and coordinate with expert partners to deliver specialized technical activities. This role will be based in Tbilisi, but will involve regular field engagement across the breadth of our projects in Western Georgia (and regionally, where relevant).
