LazyLance is building an AI-powered platform that helps people find relevant jobs and automate parts of the application workflow across multiple platforms. The product already has real technical depth: React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, background workers, browser automation, AI-assisted matching, and self-managed production infrastructure.
What it needs now is a (possibly senior) engineer who can finish it.
This role is for someone who does not stop at "the architecture is good enough on paper." You take incomplete systems, unstable integrations, and half-finished workflows and turn them into a working product that users can trust. You are comfortable shipping across the full stack, debugging automation that breaks in ugly ways, and owning the path from MVP to reliable business.
What you`ll do
** Complete core product flows from onboarding through job discovery, application generation, submission, and tracking.
** Stabilize session handling, user state, and workflow consistency across frontend and backend.
** Build and harden platform integrations, including browser automation and fallback paths when direct email or platform actions fail.
** Finish monetization systems including Stripe billing, usage tracking, checkout confirmation, and subscription management.
** Strengthen email delivery workflows, including SMTP and provider-based communication flows.
** Improve reliability of queues, retries, rate limiting, observability, and operational tooling.
** Ship product improvements across frontend UX, backend APIs, worker processes, and infrastructure.
** Help define what "finished" actually means, then execute toward it.
You should have
** Strong production experience with TypeScript across frontend and backend.
** Deep hands-on experience with React and Node.js or Express-style APIs.
** Solid SQL and PostgreSQL experience, plus familiarity with Redis and background job systems.
** Experience with browser automation, scraping, or unreliable third-party integrations.
** Good product instincts and the ability to prioritize the few changes that unblock real users.
** Comfort owning deployment, CI/CD, and production debugging.
** A bias toward shipping, but enough rigor to leave systems maintainable.
You`ll stand out if
** You have worked on AI product features that use LLMs in real workflows.
** You have built SaaS billing, transactional email, and auth systems before.
** You have startup or founding engineer experience.
** You are comfortable working in a codebase that is partly built, partly messy, and still commercially important.
What success looks like
In your first months, the platform becomes materially more complete and more dependable. Core workflows work end to end. External platform automation is more robust. Payments are live and trustworthy. The system is easier to operate, debug, and extend. Founder intervention drops.
Why this role matters
This is not a maintenance role. It is the role that decides whether a technically ambitious product becomes a usable, sellable company.
To apply, send a short note with:
** Examples of products you personally finished, not just contributed to
** One example of a flaky integration or system you made reliable
** Links to GitHub, portfolio, or shipped products where relevant
We have more projects just like this that need to be finished/started, so we need several developers.
