Full-Stack AI Engineer — 6-Week Contract | Tbilisi, Georgia
Location: Tbilisi, Georgia (in person — Vake)
Type: Contract — 6 weeks
Compensation: $2, 000-$3, 000 USD/month (depending on experience)
About the Role:
I`m a product and engineering leader building AI-powered software, and I`m looking for a strong full-stack engineer to work alongside me in Tbilisi for a focused six-week engagement. You`ll be primarily focused on backend work — building services, integrations, and AI-powered systems that ship to production.
This is a building role. On any given day you might be shipping an API endpoint, wiring up an LLM-powered workflow, building an integration with a third-party platform, or improving the quality of our AI agent systems. We use Claude Code as our primary development tool — it`s core to how we work.
We`ll meet in person in Vake four times per week for focused working sessions. The rest of the time you`ll work independently, shipping code and iterating fast.
What You`ll Do:
** Ship backend features end-to-end — API endpoints, database models, background jobs, third-party integrations, and the business logic that ties them together
** Build and extend AI agent systems — design agent workflows, implement tool calling and function execution, manage multi-turn conversations, and orchestrate LLM interactions
** Build and maintain integrations — connect with external platforms (CRM, messaging, payments, productivity tools) and keep them reliable
** Improve AI quality — prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, knowledge base ingestion, and retrieval systems
** Ship with velocity — use AI-assisted development tools daily to move faster than teams three times our size
Tech Stack
Backend:
** Node.js and Express
** PostgreSQL with Sequelize ORM, Redis and BullMQ
** REST APIs with OpenAPI schema validation
** Multi-provider LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic) with tool calling and structured outputs
** Vector search and hybrid retrieval for RAG
** WebSocket and SSE for real-time features
Infrastructure:
** Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud SQL, Redis, Cloud Storage)
** Docker and CI/CD via GitHub Actions
AI Tooling:
** Anthropic Claude SDK and Agent SDK
** Model Context Protocol (MCP) for tool orchestration
** Prompt management and structured output schemas
What We`re Looking For:
** You ship production AI features. You`ve built LLM-powered systems that real users rely on — agent workflows, RAG pipelines, or AI-driven automation. Not hackathon demos.
** You use Claude Code or Codex. What matters is that you`re using AI-assisted development tools to ship at a velocity that wouldn`t be possible without them.
** You`re strong in Node.js and TypeScript. Comfortable with Express, async patterns, ORMs, and building reliable APIs.
** You know your way around databases. PostgreSQL, migrations, data modeling, query optimization.
** You move fast and ship often. Small team, high velocity. You push code daily.
** You`re based in Tbilisi and available to meet in Vake four times per week for in-person working sessions.
