Key Group is a global consulting company providing strategic, legal, and business solutions for startups and established international companies. We specialize in a wide range of services - from legal compliance and corporate law to marketing, technology development, and strategic management. Our team works on cutting-edge projects (such as developing global marketplaces like travel marketplaces) and helps clients navigate complex regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions. If you are looking to kick-start your legal career in a dynamic, international setting, Key Group offers an exciting platform for growth.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Legal Compliance Specialist who is detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated. In this role, you will help our international clients ensure fair competition by identifying unauthorized or illegal competitors in travel industry and coordinating regulatory actions. You will investigate businesses operating without proper licenses or in violation of regulations, compile evidence (photographs, website screenshots, documentation of violations), and prepare formal complaints to submit to relevant regulatory authorities in European countries and the United Kingdom. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent law graduates with strong English skills who are eager to develop expertise in international compliance and regulatory law.
Key Responsibilities:
** Research & Investigation: Monitor and research client industries to identify businesses operating illegally or without required licenses (e.g. unregistered competitors in transport, hospitality, etc.).
** Evidence Gathering: Collect and document evidence of violations - for example, taking photographs of physical operations, capturing website screenshots, and saving advertisements or user reports that indicate non-compliance.
** Case Preparation: Compile the findings into a clear case report, outlining the relevant laws/regulations being violated and providing supporting evidence. Prepare legal briefs or complaint documents for submission to authorities.
** Regulatory Filings: Lodge formal complaints/reports with regulatory bodies in various countries (throughout Europe and the UK) on behalf of our clients. This involves drafting cover letters or forms in English (or coordinating translations if needed) and ensuring all required information is provided to the regulators.
** Liaison with Regulators: Communicate with regulatory agencies and follow up on submitted cases. Coordinate with local law firms or consultants if necessary to support the complaint process in specific jurisdictions. Keep track of the progress of each case and respond to any requests for additional information.
** Client Reporting: Update clients on the status of their cases and advise them on any further actions needed. Provide summaries of outcomes once regulators take action.
** Compliance Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulatory guidelines in target countries. Monitor ongoing activities of reported competitors to inform clients of any new compliance issues or the cessation of illegal activities after enforcement.
Qualifications and Skills:
** Education: Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Law (recent graduates or final-year law students eligible to work full-time are welcome). A focus on international or European law is a plus.
** Language Skills: Excellent English proficiency (both written and spoken) is essential. You must be able to draft formal documents and correspond with regulators in clear, professional English. (Knowledge of additional languages such as Georgian or other European languages is a bonus but not required.)
** Research Abilities: Strong investigative research skills - able to efficiently find information online (e.g. business registrations, regulatory databases, competitor websites) and offline, and identify legal violations. Familiarity with using search engines, official registries, and social media for research is important.
** Analytical Thinking: Attention to detail in analyzing business practices against legal requirements. Ability to interpret regulations and determine what constitutes a violation in practical scenarios.
** Writing Skills: Clear and concise writing style for preparing reports and legal complaints. Should be able to present facts and arguments in a structured manner.
** Communication: Good interpersonal skills to liaise with team members, clients, and possibly speak with officials. Professional demeanor when dealing with authorities and client representatives.
** Organization: Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and keep accurate records. Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines for filings and responses.
** Ethical Mindset: A strong sense of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices. Passion for upholding the law and ensuring fair competition.
What We Offer:
** Hands-On International Experience: Work on real cases across different countries in Europe and the UK, giving you exposure to international law and regulatory processes early in your career.
** Mentorship and Training: Guidance from experienced legal and compliance professionals. We provide training on how to prepare regulatory filings and case dossiers, as well as continuous learning opportunities in compliance and EU/UK law.
** Professional Growth: Opportunity to develop a unique niche skill set at the intersection of law, compliance, and international business. Successful team members can grow into senior compliance roles or other legal positions within the company`s global projects.
** Dynamic Team Environment: Be part of a young, driven team in our Tbilisi office, collaborating with colleagues and clients from various countries. We value initiative and fresh ideas.
** Competitive Compensation: A competitive salary (and performance-based bonuses) will be offered, commensurate with your education and experience. We also offer paid vacation, and potential relocation assistance for candidates outside Tbilisi if needed.
