We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to join our executive team and provide strategic legal counsel to the organization.
Position Title: Chief Legal Officer (CLO)
Location: Ir. Abashidze street 70, Tbilisi, Georgia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Position Summary:
The CLO will serve as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing all legal aspects of the business. This individual will ensure compliance with laws and regulations, manage legal risks, support corporate governance, and provide proactive legal strategies to advance the company`s goals. The CLO will also act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, safeguarding the company`s interests while enabling sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Strategy and Governance:
** Develop and implement the company`s legal strategy in alignment with business goals.
** Advise the CEO, board of directors, and executive leadership on legal matters, risks, and opportunities.
** Ensure effective corporate governance practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Risk Management and Compliance:
** Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across all operations and subsidiaries.
** Oversee compliance with local, regional, and international laws, including real estate, construction, labor, and corporate regulations.
** Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure legal and regulatory adherence.
Contract Management:
** Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, agreements, and MOUs.
** Oversee the legal aspects of major transactions, partnerships, and acquisitions.
** Ensure all contractual obligations and rights are effectively managed and protected.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
** Manage and oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
** Collaborate with external legal counsel to ensure optimal outcomes.
Team Leadership:
** Build and lead a high-performing legal team.
** Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
Collaboration with Business Units:
** Act as a strategic partner to Apart Development, Apart Construction, Apart Showroom, and Apart Architect.
** Provide tailored legal guidance to each subsidiary.
** Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
** Master of Laws (LL.M.) or equivalent law degree.
Experience:
** Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
** Experience in real estate or construction is highly preferred.
** Proven ability to manage complex legal matters.
