The role: Chief Accountant
In the role of Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for for designing, implementing and managing the full accounting cycle across the organization. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment where initiative and ownership are truly valued.
What you`ll do:
** Lead and supervise the Accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations;
** Prepare and review bank reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner;
** Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all activities are completed within deadlines;
** Review and compare elimination entries against prior periods to ensure accuracy and consistency;
** Review and validate financial statements and trial balances before submission;
** Perform and oversee account balance reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved;
** Review and approve nonstandard journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
** Monitor revenue and expenses;
** Prepare and analyze IFRS-compliant financial statements, ensuring full regulatory compliance and accuracy;
** Ensure that all accounting operations are conducted effectively within the accounting software;
** Coordinate with internal, external, and tax auditors, ensuring timely provision of required documentation;
** Preparation and submission of monthly declarations;
** Provide financial analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
** Manage payroll accounting, staff cost control and reconciliation of Payroll Liability Accounts.
What we`re looking for:
** At least 4-5 years of professional experience in accounting and financial reporting;
** Higher education in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field;
** Strong knowledge of Georgian tax legislation;
** Excellent knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards;
** Experience working with auditors and preparing financial statements in compliance with SARAS requirements;
** Experience working with accounting software;
** Professional certifications will be considered a strong advantage;
** Willingness and readiness to work in a startup or fast-growing environment;
** A strong sense of responsibility, accountability and attention to detail;
** Strong organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to work well in a team;
** Effective delegation and process management skills;
** Team leadership and problem-solving abilities;
** Curiosity, adaptability and a hands-on approach to work.
