The School of Law and the School of Science and Technology of the University of Georgia announce an open competition for the following academic positions:

** Associate Professor in the Department of European Law and Competition Law and Consumer Rights Protection (1 vacancy) - School of Law.
** Professor in the Department of Theory of Functions (1 vacancy) - School of Science and Technology.


Identification of the successful candidate will be carried out in the following manner:

Main criteria:

** Education: Doctor`s academic degree;
** Scientific-pedagogical activity:

1. The professor must have at least 6 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience.
2. The associate professor must have at least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical work experience.

** Scientific papers in the last 5 years: Preference will be given to authors of publications indexed in Scopus.
** Clinical activity (only for clinical directions):

1. The professor must have clinical experience of at least the last 9 years.
2. The associate professor must have clinical experience of at least the last 5 years.

** Ability to conduct lectures in English.

Additional criteria:

** Syllabus/syllabi that are assessed for adequacy of content, learning outcomes, and methods of achieving them;
** Vision of research activities within the University of Georgia;
** Participation in conferences/seminars during the last 5 years;
** Participation in professional development events;
** Ability to use office technologies.

3. The documents to be presented are:

3.1. Application in the name of the competition commission - indicating the vacancy for which the applicant applies (according to the attached form);
3.2. University of Georgia application form filled in Georgian and English (according to the attached form);
3.3. Copy of identity card;
3.4. A copy of the document confirming the academic degree (bachelor`s, master`s, doctorate or equivalent). A foreign or non-Georgian language diploma must be translated into Georgian. Qualifications received abroad must be recognized by the National Center for Education Quality Development (https://eqe.ge/geo/static/213) and the translation must be notarized;
3.5. Report on pedagogical-scientific experience;
3.6. State certificate of authorization for medical activity in the relevant/adjacent specialty (only for clinical areas); 3.7. Document confirming clinical activity (only for clinical areas);
3.8. List of published works and copies (a complete list of published works is presented, and a copy of any publication selected by the candidate);
3.9. English language certificate (if any);
3.10. Vision of research activities within the University of Georgia (according to the attached form);
3.11. Subject syllabus (es);
3.12. Other information that is important to present your candidacy for the relevant position.

4. At the request of the competition commission, the candidate may be asked to conduct a demo lecture;

5. The competition`s winner must be affiliated with the University of Georgia. The Google Scholar profile should be verified with the University of Georgia`s name and official (@ug.edu.ge) email address.

6. Tender documents will be received from January 12 to 13, 2026, in electronic form at academicvacancy@ug.edu.ge or in physical form at the address: Kostava St., Tbilisi. #77а, 4th building, room #514, 0171. The candidacy will be considered if all the documents are presented.

7. The competition for the academic position will be held on January 16, 2026.

8. The competition commission`s decision can be appealed to the appeal commission. Complaints and claims are received on January 22, 2026.

9. The list of competition winners will be published on January 26, 2026, on the University of Georgia`s website, www.ug.edu.ge.
