Mercy Corps is announcing the Project Assistant`s vacancy for the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) funded project "Supporting Rural Development through Youth Entrepreneurship in Georgia" Phase II. The project will support at least 1, 800 young people (out of which at least 50% female), including from vulnerable and marginalized groups, to develop their entrepreneurial skills and capacity to create at least 65 sustainable, new and/or existing, agricultural and non-agricultural youth-led enterprises. The intended impact of the proposed project is "Strengthened rural development in the target municipalities as a consequence of fostering entrepreneurial potential and improving livelihoods of young people (ages 18-35)".

Position title: Project Assistant
Duty station: Tbilisi with frequent travels in the regions

Essential Responsibilities

** Support to the Project Director and Project Officers in planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of project activities
** Support project team in organizing trainings, seminars, workshops, etc.
** Participate in the assessments and surveys conducted by the project and ensure reliability and usability of the data;
** Regular travel to the project areas
** Participate in implementation of the sub-projects
** Provide technical assistance with the development of sub-project applications;
** Prepare the required documentation of supplies and transactions related to the programme and ensure they are completed according to Donor and Mercy Corps standards
** Maintain the inventory and prepare the asset reports following Mercy Corps standards
** Collect and assess market prices when needed.
** Distribute and collect Requests for Quotations.
** Prepare Quotation Analysis.
** Support project staff as needed on creating a clear and understandable documentation for procurement process

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

** University diploma, preferably in economics or business administration
** At least one year of experience of working in the development sector
** Experience of working with rural enterprises and youth-led businesses
** Fluency in Georgian and English languages, spoken and written, is required
** Fluency in Russian, Armenian or Azerbaijani languages in an advantage
** Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people
** Ability to work as part of a team
** Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
** Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills.
