Main Role
Head of Finance Department is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall financial health and strategic direction of Georgian International Energy Corporation. The role requires a dynamic and experienced professional to oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, corporate finance, and treasury. The Head of Finance Department provides critical financial insights and guidance to the company Director and executive team, ensuring compliance, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Head of Finance Department will manage and be responsible for the following key areas and their respective divisions:
1. Financial Accounting Division
** Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS).
** Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
** Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and the integrity of financial data.
** Ensure all statutory and tax compliance requirements are met, including the preparation and submission of tax declarations and reports.
** Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
2. Budgeting & Analysis Division
** Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with all departments to develop comprehensive and realistic budgets.
** Conduct regular variance analysis, comparing actual performance against budget and providing detailed reports to the Company Director and senior management.
** Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, strategic planning, and performance analysis.
** Provide insightful analysis on business performance, cost optimization, and potential efficiency improvements.
3. Corporate Finance and Treasury Division
** Manage the company`s capital structure and funding needs, including debt management and equity financing.
** Oversee treasury and cash management functions, ensuring optimal liquidity and efficient use of cash resources.
** Evaluate and execute corporate finance transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
** Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other capital market stakeholders.
** Manage currency risk and other financial risks through appropriate hedging strategies.
Direct Reports
The Head of Finance Department will have direct supervisory responsibility for the heads of the following divisions:
** Financial Accounting Division
** Budgeting & Reporting Division
** Corporate Finance and Treasury Division
Required Qualifications
** Education: A Bachelor`s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or a professional certification such as ACCA or a similar qualification is highly preferred.
** Professional Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a senior managerial or directorial role, preferably in the energy or a similar capital-intensive industry.
Knowledge & Skills:
** Proven experience in financial management, strategic planning, and corporate finance.
** Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards (IFRS).
** Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a high-performing finance team.
** Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
** Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
** Excel Advanced user.
** Fluency in English, Russian and Georgian is mandatory.
** Familiarity with 1C ERP.
