The University of Georgia announces an open competition for academic positions in the following fields:

School of Law

** Associate Professor in Public International Law (1 position)
** Associate Professor in European Union Law (1 position)
** Associate Professor in International Organizations (1 position)
** Associate Professor in Humanitarian Law (1 position)
** Associate Professor in Principles of Democratic Governance (1 position)

School of Science and Technology

** Associate Professor in Chemistry (1 position)

2. Candidate Selection Process:

The selection of successful candidates will be carried out based on the following criteria:

Main Criteria:

2.1. Education - Doctoral degree
2.2. Academic/teaching experience - The Associate Professor must have at least 3 years of academic/teaching experience
2.3. Scientific publications within the last 5 years. Preference will be given to authors of papers published in Scopus-indexed journals
2.4. English language proficiency: for vacancies in the School of Law - minimum level B2; for vacancies in the School of Science and Technology - the ability to deliver lectures in English is mandatory
Additional Criteria:
2.6 Syllabus (syllabi) evaluated based on content, learning outcomes, and teaching methodologies.
2.7 Research activity vision within the University of Georgia.
2.8 Participation in conferences/seminars in the last 5 years.
2.9 Participation in professional development activities.
2.10 Ability to use office technologies.

3. Required Documents:

3.1 Application letter addressed to the Competition Commission, indicating the position applied for (as per the attached form).
3.2 University of Georgia application form filled out in both Georgian and English (as per the attached form).
3.3 Copy of the personal identification document.
3.4 Copy of academic degree certificates (Bachelor`s, Master`s, Doctorate, or equivalent). Foreign-issued or non-Georgian diplomas must be translated into Georgian and recognized by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (Recognition of Foreign Education). The translation must be notarized.
3.5 Certificate of scientific and pedagogical experience.
3.6 List of published works and copies (the full list of published works must be provided, along with a copy of at least one selected publication).
3.7 English language proficiency certificate (if available).
3.8 Research activity vision within the University of Georgia (as per the attached form).
3.9 Course syllabus (syllabi).
3.10 Any additional information the candidate deems relevant for their application.

4. Additional Selection Procedures:

4.1.At the request of the Selection Committee, the candidate may be asked to deliver a demo lecture.
4.2. The winner of the competition must affiliate with the University of Georgia. Their public Google Scholar profile must be verified under the name of the University of Georgia and linked to an official university email address (@ug.edu.ge).
4.3. Submission of application documents will take place on October 6-7, 2025, either electronically via academicvacancy@ug.edu.ge or in hard copy at: Tbilisi, Kostava St. 77a, Building 4, Room 514, 0171. Only complete applications will be considered.
4.4. The academic competition will be held on October 9-10, 2025.
4.5. The decision of the Selection Committee may be appealed to the Appeals Committee. The deadline for filing complaints/appeals is October 15, 2025.
4.6. The list of successful candidates will be published on October 17, 2025 on the University of Georgia website www.ug.edu.ge.
