MQS LLC In Georgia is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Fitter.
Key Responsibilities:
The Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing mechanical and piping components in line with project specifications and engineering instructions. The role requires precision, technical skill, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Main Duties:
** Select the type and size of required materials in accordance with job specifications, drawings, and engineering instructions.
** Prepare the work area, including installation of supports, work tables, equipment setup, and ensuring availability of required tools.
** Cut materials for fabrication as per provided dimensions using hacksaws, flame-cutting torches, plasma-arc equipment, pipe cold-cutting and bevelling machines, abrasive wheels, and other power/manual tools.
** Prepare details and components through bending, machining, cleaning, grinding, drilling, joint preparation, and threading of pipes.
** Position, assemble, and fit details/components as per drawings and dimensions using jacks, clamps, jigs, fixtures, hoists, straps, bolts, wedges, and other mechanical tools.
** Carry out tack welding of fitted parts when required by procedure.
** Perform pre-heating and heat treatment of workpieces when specified.
** Assist welders by cleaning welded joints and removing spatter, slag, undercuts, and excess weld metal.
** Install fabricated structures and pipework in accordance with drawings and instructions using mechanical tools (wrenches, torqueing equipment, pliers, files, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.).
** Carry out other manual handling and fabrication activities required to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills:
** Proven experience as a Fitter in oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects.
** Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
** Skilled in the use of cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and fitting tools and equipment.
** Basic knowledge of welding procedures (tack welding) and heat treatment processes.
** Familiarity with safe working practices, HSE standards, and manual handling techniques.
** Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver precise work under time and safety constraints.
** Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
