Introduction:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring tax compliance, and preparing accurate financial reports in line with IFRS and Georgian tax legislation. This role involves managing payroll, reconciling financial statements, handling tax filings, and improving accounting processes. The Senior Accountant will support audits, optimize internal controls, and provide financial insights to management.
Responsibilities:
** Oversee or perform daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
** Prepare and submit tax declarations, pension contributions, and VAT filings, ensuring full adherence to Georgian tax laws.
** Supervise or perform payroll processing, ensuring accurate tax deductions and timely salary disbursements.
** Maintain compliance with IFRS, local financial regulations, and internal policies.
** Monitor and analyze financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory adherence.
** Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management.
** Perform bank reconciliations, vendor payment processing, and intercompany transactions.
** Lead financial audits, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
** Analyze financial trends and variances, identifying areas for cost control and efficiency improvements.
** Assist in the development of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.
** Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures, enhancing reporting accuracy and efficiency.
** Assist in the implementation and optimization of ERP/accounting software (Xledger, SAP, Oris, Apex, Balance, etc.).
** Mentor and support junior accountants, ensuring best practices in financial management.
** Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
** Ensure timely and accurate financial data consolidation across different company entities.
Requirements:
** Bachelor`s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
** 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
** Relevant accounting certifications (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
** Experience with accounting software (Xledger, SAP, Oris, Apex, Balance, or similar systems).
** Strong expertise in Georgian tax regulations, IFRS, and financial reporting.
** Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
** Ability to handle complex reconciliations and financial consolidations.
** Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and audit procedures.
** Professional working proficiency in English (Russian is a plus).
** Experience working in an international company environment is an advantage.
