The Georgian-American School is seeking a qualified and passionate AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics Teacher to join our Social Studies department. We are looking for an educator who bring deep content knowledge, teaching experience, and a commitment to student success in advanced placement courses.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
** Master`s degree in Economics, Social Studies Education, or a related field.
** Valid teaching certification/license in Economics or Social Studies.
** English language proficiency at B2 or C1 level.
Experience:
** Demonstrated experience teaching high school-level Economics or Social Studies.
** Prior experience teaching AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics is strongly
** Familiarity with the AP Economics curriculum, including key concepts such as:
** Supply and demand
** Market structures and consumer behavior
** National income, inflation, and unemployment
** Fiscal and monetary policy
** International trade and economic growth
** Experience in preparing students for standardized tests, especially AP Economics exams.
Knowledge and Skills:
** Ability to explain complex economic concepts clearly and accessibly.
** Strong understanding of real-world economic applications and current global issues.
** Skill in using data analysis, graphs, and models to enhance instruction.
** Capacity to differentiate instruction to meet various learning styles and student needs.
Responsibilities:
** Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with College Board AP standards.
** Help students develop analytical thinking, essay writing, and exam strategies specific to AP Micro and Macro exams.
** Provide regular, constructive feedback on student performance and progress.
** Maintain consistent communication with students, parents, and school leadership.
** Participate in professional development activities and contribute to a collaborative school environment.
