BLOCKCHAIN.GE is Georgia`s leading crypto trading platform, designed to make digital asset trading secure, fast, and user-friendly. We are part of the broader BitXChange ecosystem, which operates the country`s largest cryptomat (crypto ATM) chain. Together, we are building the core infrastructure of Georgia`s crypto economy—serving thousands of users across both web and physical channels.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Python Developer to lead backend development for BLOCKCHAIN.GE and support services for the BitXChange cryptomat network. You`ll play a key role in building secure, high-performance APIs, integrating with blockchain technologies, and managing our internal backend architecture.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in central Tbilisi, in a cozy, focused office environment where you`ll work closely with the core team.
Senior Python Developer

Key Responsibilities:
** Build and maintain backend services using Django and FastAPI.
** Develop secure and efficient APIs for the BLOCKCHAIN.GE trading platform.
** Create and manage blockchain integrations (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin).
** Support backend systems for BitXChange`s cryptomat chain, including device communication and transaction processing.
** Manage services locally using Docker Compose (no separate DevOps team).
** Collaborate with the frontend team to deliver product features end to end.
** Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architecture improvements.
** Write clean, testable, well-documented code and perform code reviews.
Required Skills & Experience:
** 5+ years of backend development experience with Python.
** Deep knowledge of Django and FastAPI frameworks.
** Experience with RESTful API design, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
** Familiarity with Docker Compose for local service orchestration.
** Hands-on experience working with blockchain APIs/libraries (e.g., web3.py, bitcoinlib).
** Solid understanding of software security practices, especially for financial systems.
** Self-motivated and capable of taking ownership of backend components.
** Must be located in or willing to relocate to Tbilisi, Georgia.
Nice to Have:
** Experience working with hardware-integrated systems.
** Knowledge of WebSocket APIs and real-time communication.
** Familiarity with asynchronous programming and tools like Celery.
** Previous work in fintech or crypto projects.
