The Georgian-American School is seeking a dedicated and experienced AP Physics Teacher to join our academic team. We are committed to academic excellence and are looking for a passionate educator who can inspire and prepare students for success in Advanced Placement Physics.
Job Requirements:
Education and Certification:
** Master`s degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a related scientific field.
** Valid teaching certification/license in Physics or Science.
** English Proficiency: Minimum B2 level, preferably C1.
Experience:
** Minimum 3 years of high school Physics teaching experience (AP Physics experience preferred).
** Demonstrated ability to teach advanced topics such as:
** Kinematics and Dynamics
** Newton`s Laws of Motion
** Work, Energy, and Power
** Rotational Motion
** Electricity and Magnetism
** Waves and Optics
** Modern Physics (e.g., Quantum, Nuclear)
** Experience preparing students for standardized science exams, especially the AP Physics 1, 2, or C exams.
Knowledge and Skills:
** Strong foundation in theoretical and applied physics.
** Proficient in laboratory safety and modern lab technologies, including virtual lab platforms.
** Capable of designing and supervising lab experiments aligned with the AP Physics curriculum.
** Ability to differentiate instruction for a range of academic abilities.
** Skilled in quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, and fostering scientific inquiry.
Professional Responsibilities:
** Develop and implement engaging, inquiry-based lesson plans aligned with AP standards.
** Prepare students for the AP Physics exam through:
** Targeted review sessions
** Practice tests
** Individualized feedback
** Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and school leadership.
** Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
** Assess student performance through lab reports, quizzes, exams, and projects.
