The Peace Corps is a U.S. Agency working in over 60 countries around the world. The Peace Corps established a program in Georgia in 2001 at the invitation of the Government of Georgia. As a non-political, non-commercial, and non-religious agency, Peace Corps Georgia contributes to the expressed social and economic development needs of Georgia while promoting a better understanding between Americans and Georgians. In 2001, the first group of 21 Volunteers worked alongside Georgian teachers in secondary education English teaching assignments. Since that time, over 900 Volunteers have served in Georgia, exchanging skills with their Georgian counterparts, supervisors, and community members; sharing American culture; and bringing a part of Georgian culture back home to the United States. The 22nd group of Volunteers will arrive in April 2025. All Volunteers will complete an 11-week intensive Pre-Service Training (PST) in Georgia before beginning their service.

Peace Corps Georgia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of: Training Assistant (TA).

Tentative Dates of contract:

March 12 - July 3, 2025
• March 12 - March 31 in Tbilisi (Training of Trainers, Preparation, Orientation Week)
• April 1 - June 27 in surrounding communities of Gori (PST main phase)
• June 30 - July 3 (Swearing-In Ceremony in Tbilisi, PST wrap-up)

The TA will work under the supervision of the Training Manager, and in coordination with Tbilisi-based Administrative, Programming and Training and other staff. They will work closely with the Training Manager to manage operations in the training site, office, cluster sites, schools, and non-governmental organizations in communities where PST training will take place. The Training Assistant will work closely with the Training Manager, Program Managers, PST Technical Trainers and other Programming staff to design and manage the PST online learning platform for Volunteers, and coordinate with e-course content leads, including the Program Managers, Safety and Security Manager, Peace Corps Medical Officers, Executive Team, PST Technical Trainers, and other PST staff to update and maintain their training and learning content. The Training Assistant will lead the assessment and evaluation component of PST. By the end of the contract, the TA completes a final report, which will include all relevant documentation, templates and materials used during the training and recommendations for the next year.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

** Supports the Training Manager, Trainers and other content leads to develop and integrate learning content across the 11-week PST calendar of training events (COTE) to increase effectiveness and efficiency of training.
** Supports the Training Manager in planning and managing the implementation of the calendar of training events to ensure that training locations are prepared, sessions are complete, training materials are available and trainers and contributors are aware of the schedule and prepared to present on schedule.
** Assists the Training Manager in the implementation of PST policies and procedures, including communicating relevant training standards, procedures and rules with the Trainees;
** Works with Training Manager and other Post staff to develop and maintain the PST online learning platform using Peace Corps` LearningSpace (the Peace Corps` learning management system), to maximize training content delivery to Trainees.
** Develops and manages e-learning course (s) in LearningSpace for incoming cohort of Trainees, assists in the development and management of content with the course leads and the creation and management of trainee course completion data in coordination with other staff;
** Assists the Training Manager in preparing for and facilitating all PST planning meetings and participates in all PST meetings;
** Prepares and delivers and/or co-facilitates training sessions in coordination with the TM and DPT and works collaboratively to support others as co-trainer as needed.
** Works with the Administrative Assistant to manages scheduling of all vehicles and provides logistical support to staff for the training program;
** Coordinates with the team to solicit the logistical needs for the training program;
** Prepares and delivers and/or co-facilitates training sessions in coordination with the TM and DPT and works collaboratively to support others as co-trainer as needed.
** Coordinates with relevant staff to organize the participation of PCV resource trainers and external trainers/guest speakers in the development of specific training sessions or activities in PST.
** Coordinates with language and Inter-Cultural Facilitators, guest speakers, or other external stakeholders in preparation for training events, including coordination of the interview processes, scheduling, etc.
** Observes Trainees and Volunteers, assesses performance, and documents assessment ratings and feedback in the Pre-Service Training program as prescribed by the continuum of learning and assessment and participates in Roundtables and Interviews.
** As member of the training staff, ensures an efficient operation of the training, and follows all Peace Corps regulations and guidelines;
** Performs other duties as required by the Training Manager within the scope if his/her role.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

** University degree;
** One year or more experience in the field of education, learning and development, or adult training;
** One year or more professional experience in planning and executing logistics for participant events, including trainings, conferences, and/or workshops or other complex events;
** Fluency in written and spoken English and Georgian;
** Upper-Intermediate level of competency in using MS Word and Excel;
** Good working knowledge of administrative procedures, organizational skills, and experience in performing administrative responsibilities efficiently and in compliance with relevant local regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

** Professional experience in e-learning course design and development, webinar production, and/or virtual facilitation;
** Prior experience working for International Organizations, especially with similar training programs;
** Prior experience working with Americans and/or experience living abroad.

** Note that only short-listed candidates will be contacted;
** Staff must live full-time in the training site for a period of 11 weeks and attend orientation training which will be held in Tbilisi. Staff should arrange accommodation in Tbilisi on their own, the Peace Corps will provide accommodation in Gori, as needed.
