Napirze, an environmental organisation located in Rustavi, Georgia, is looking for a market researcher specializing in textile, waste, and sustainability issues.
The researcher will conduct a study on textile waste production and imports in the EaP countries of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Ukraine, and identify potential partners in the textile and apparel sector.
The field of sustainability and green technology in the textile and apparel (T&A) Industry is new in EaP countries and little research has been done on a local level. At the same time, countries such as Georgia operate textile factories, produce apparel for international brands, and import second hand textile shipments from abroad. The EaP countries` fashion industries need to transform in an environmentally sustainable way to maintain and improve their competitiveness, but also reduce the industries` environmental impact in line with domestic commitments and decarbonization strategies. All countries in the region share a similar level of policy development, face skills mismatches, and must address outdated production patterns and business processes.
EaP countries currently have a low capacity for recycling textile waste, and this issue could be improved on by establishing regional networks of collection and recycling of post-consumer waste. Successful experience gained in one country may serve as an example and accelerate transformation in other countries too. The information gathered will be used to pilot models of sustainable textile waste management in the region.
The consultant should meet the following requirements:
** Have a minimum of 5 years experience conducting studies/taking part in research
** Have a minimum of 5 years working in the sustainability field
** Have strong interpersonal and analytical skills
** Have a solid knowledge of the textile industry and textile waste issues
** Have experience working within the textile and or/waste sector, ideally in the Caucasus
** Strong English language competency

Wage: CHF 200-250 per 7 hour working day: total salary of CHF 6, 000-7, 500, including VAT.
The final wage will be determined by the candidate`s level of experience.
