Background

People in Need (PIN) Georgia is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to support the New Horizons: Harmonious Development of Tana and Tedzami Protected Landscape and Local Communities project. This project, funded by the Czech Development Agency (CzDA), aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the Tana and Tedzami Protected Landscape (TT PL), preserving its biodiversity while improving the socioeconomic conditions of local communities.

People in Need (PIN) Georgia a branch of the Czech non-profit organization, has been dedicated to advancing sustainable development and social inclusion in Georgia since 2005. Our mission is to build a more just, equitable, and resilient society by focusing on rural economic development, strengthening civil society, increasing resilience to climate change and providing humanitarian assistance.
We have gained a strong reputation for our community-embedded programs and our ability to influence policy through civic engagement. Our work includes promoting the model for participatory local development, supporting vocational training and entrepreneurship, and most importantly, advocating for the rights and needs of marginalized groups. This aspect of our work often inspires others to join us in our mission.

In addition to our core initiatives, we continue to support Ukrainian refugees displaced by the ongoing conflict, offering Multi-purpose Cash Assistance, psychosocial support, and income generation funding to those in need.

PIN Georgia collaborates with multiple stakeholders across Georgia, such as national and local civil society organizations (CSOs), Local Action Groups (LAGs), independent media, professional associations, and the private sector, as well as national or local government institutions to enhance social protection mechanisms and drive systemic changes. Our staff, based in Dusheti and Tbilisi, ensures our presence across all regions of Georgia, including remote and mountainous areas often underserved by other actors. Through our extensive network and partnerships, we continue to make significant contributions to the country`s development and resilience.

Project Overview

The New Horizons project aims to:

** Develop and implement a participatory management system for the TT PL.
** Enhance local governance and sustainable natural resource management.
** Improve local economic opportunities through eco-tourism and agriculture.
** Support local communities in decision-making processes and strategy planning.
** Promote environmental protection and cultural heritage preservation through education and
awareness-raising activities.

Position Summary & Reporting Relations

The Project Coordinator will assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities. This role involves close collaboration with the project team, partners, and local stakeholders to achieve project goals, focusing on rural economic development, civil society strengthening, and climate resilience. The Project Coordinator reports to the Project Manager and collaborates closely with other team members and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Implementation and support

** Assist in developing project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of activities.
** Coordinate with local authorities, partners, and beneficiaries to facilitate project implementation.
** Prepare regular progress reports and assist in financial reporting.
** Conduct field visits to monitor activities and provide support to field teams.
** Support procurement processes, maintain project documentation, and assist in organizing meetings and events.
** Identify risks related to project activities and adjust plans to ensure objectives are achieved.
** Participate actively in relevant advocacy initiatives.
** Support the project team, ensuring alignment with project goals and providing day-to-day support and mentorship.

Stakeholder Engagement and Representation:

** Foster relationships with local authorities, government agencies, private sector actors, and civil society to ensure collaboration and support for project activities.
** Represent PIN in local, regional, and national forums related to environmental conservation, rural
development, and sustainable tourism.

Project Quality & Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL):

** Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure accurate tracking of indicators and project impacts, adapting project activities as needed.
** Support the design and implementation of baseline studies, environmental impact assessments, and mid-term and final evaluations.

Accountability and Safeguarding including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH)

** Carry out the duties in accordance with the PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies (CoC and KP).
** Support the PM in the implementation of Safeguarding measures within the project.
** Participate in training and awareness raising (CoC and KP, Safeguarding...).
** Create and maintain a fulfilling and protective environment.

Financial Management & Administration

** Assist in budget planning and monitoring, ensuring efficient use of resources in collaboration with the finance team.
** Ensure timely and compliant procurement of goods and services, managing key project documentation for financial processing.

Other: Perform other tasks relevant to the position as required

** The Employee is obliged to follow PIN Policies, National Staff Policy and Internal working rules, safety and security, fire safety regulations and other obligatory procedures and regulations related to her/his work;
** Employee shall always maintain confidentiality of all information gained from employment not publicly available. S/he shall represent and uphold the values of People in Need and behave in appropriate manner at all times and all places.

Requirements:

** Higher education diploma
** At least 2 years of experience in project coordination
** Strong organizational and communication skills
** Full professional proficiency in English and Georgian languages
** Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
** Preference will be given to applicants with experience living and/or working in Gori-based programs and communities
