Job Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the financial operations of the shopping mall. This includes the development and implementation of financial strategies, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The CFO collaborates closely with the CEO and senior management team to support the mall`s growth, profitability, and long-term financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
** Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the mall`s objectives and growth plans.
** Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to provide financial insights and drive strategic decisions.
** Provide financial leadership on capital planning, investments, and major financial initiatives.
** Prepare long-term financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and assess financial performance to ensure the mall`s fiscal health.
Financial Management:
** Oversee the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets.
** Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
** Ensure financial stability and liquidity by managing working capital, cash flow, and investment plans.
** Lead cost-management strategies and recommend improvements to operational efficiency.
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
** Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
** Oversee internal and external audits to ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting.
** Maintain financial records and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Risk Management & Compliance:
** Identify and mitigate financial risks, including operational, regulatory, and market risks.
** Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, tax laws, and other statutory requirements.
** Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the mall`s assets and minimize financial risk.
** Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
Cash Flow and Investment Management:
** Oversee the mall`s cash flow management to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
** Manage investment strategies and advise on funding and financing options to support capital expenditures, projects, and mall growth.
** Develop and manage relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
Leadership and Team Management:
** Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
** Develop the capabilities of the finance team by providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
** Ensure effective communication of financial performance and forecasts with senior management, mall stakeholders, and investors.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:
** Provide regular financial reports and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
** Support investor relations by preparing financial presentations, reports, and projections for potential investors or partners.
** Communicate financial strategies and results to various stakeholders, including tenants, suppliers,
** and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
** Bachelor`s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master`s degree preferred).
** Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification preferred.
** Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial role, ideally within retail, real estate, or property management.
** Extensive knowledge of corporate finance, financial analysis, accounting principles, and financial modeling.
** Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
** Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
** Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
