Since 2008, MAC Georgia has been working to transform the lives of persons with disabilities and vulnerable populations across Georgia. Our work includes family support, youth scholarships, volunteerism, professional training, independent living centers, and national-level advocacy. Together, these initiatives help create opportunities for individuals to reach their full potential.

Position Summary

The Shuki Movida Program & Content Strategy Manager will be responsible for implementing, strengthening, and expanding the Shuki Movida initiative—MAC Georgia`s storytelling platform designed to highlight the experiences, voices, and perspectives of persons with disabilities, their families, and advocates.

Through written stories, photography, video, public events, and digital media, Shuki Movida seeks to shift public perceptions about disability and encourage society to move beyond the divide between "us" and "them." By sharing authentic and compelling personal stories, the initiative helps audiences recognize the common humanity that connects us all.

The Program & Content Strategy Manager will lead the ongoing development of the initiative by identifying powerful stories, conducting interviews, managing visual storytelling elements, and developing strategies for how Shuki Movida content is shared across digital and public platforms.
The position requires a creative and proactive individual with excellent writing and communication skills who can think strategically about storytelling, audience engagement, and modern media consumption trends.

Key Responsibilities

Story Development and Content Creation

** Identify individuals whose experiences and perspectives align with the mission of the Shuki Movida initiative.
** Conduct interviews and gather personal stories from persons with disabilities, parents, caregivers, and advocates.
** Write compelling narratives that present these stories in a clear, engaging, and respectful way.
** Ensure that each story reflects the broader goals of the project—raising awareness, challenging stereotypes, and promoting inclusion.

Visual and Multimedia Storytelling

** Coordinate and facilitate photography sessions for each story.
** Provide guidance to photographers to ensure the visual style aligns with the aesthetic and tone of the Shuki Movida initiative.
** Explore opportunities to expand storytelling through additional media formats, including video, short films, and multimedia storytelling.

Program Development and Innovation

** Regularly review the Shuki Movida project and identify opportunities to strengthen, expand, or redesign elements of the initiative.
** Introduce new storytelling approaches that reflect evolving media trends and audience engagement strategies.
** Explore new formats for sharing stories, including short-form video, podcasts, exhibitions, and other creative media.

Outreach and Awareness

** Strengthen and expand the Shuki Movida presence on MAC Georgia`s Facebook platform and website.
** Explore and implement additional communication channels, including platforms such as TikTok and other emerging media.
** Identify opportunities for in-person engagement, including exhibitions, presentations, tours, public discussions, or other events connected to the project.

Partnerships and Resource Development

** Identify potential partners who could contribute to the growth and visibility of the initiative.
** Work with the CEO to identify and pursue opportunities for additional funding, partnerships, or sponsorship that can support the continued development and expansion of the Shuki Movida initiative.

Monitoring and Improvement

** Continuously assess how audiences engage with Shuki Movida stories and content.
** Recommend adjustments and improvements that enhance the project`s reach, relevance, and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

** Strong writing and storytelling ability, with demonstrated experience producing clear, engaging narratives.
** Excellent communication and interviewing skills.
** Creativity and the ability to think outside the box when developing new storytelling approaches.
** Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
** Experience in journalism, media, communications, storytelling, or related fields is strongly preferred.
** Experience working with photography, video, or multimedia storytelling is an asset.
** Familiarity with social media platforms and digital storytelling trends.
** Commitment to the values of inclusion, dignity, and respect for persons with disabilities.

Working Conditions:

** Part-time position (0.5 FTE).
** The position will work under the direct supervision of the CEO of MAC Georgia.
** The position will involve occasional travel within Georgia to conduct interviews or document stories.
