Vacancy for a Leading Teacher and an Assistant Teacher for the English Language Class
"Montessori Universe" is an official international Montessori (2-6 y/old) institution/kindergarten (https://www.facebook.com/MontessoriUniverseGeorgia), which has been operating in Tbilisi, near Lisi Lake, since September 2025. The educational process at the kindergarten is conducted according to Maria Montessori`s method and resources.
The Montessori Method:
The primary goal of the Montessori method is to support a child`s development in ways that foster the formation of a well-rounded individual.
The Montessori method is based on child-centered education, where children learn independently through play and exploration. The main principles are:
** Respect for the child - The child has the right to choose and to learn independently, which promotes individual development.
** Freedom within structure - The child is free to choose activities within a prepared environment.
** Prepared environment - The educational space and materials are specially designed to encourage the child`s self-discovery, concentration, and development of practical skills.
Important: Children learn by example; therefore, the educator must be calm, disciplined, and consistent, and should not use a commanding tone.
Mandatory Requirements
Education and Qualifications
Lead Educator / Teacher:
** Must hold at least a Bachelor`s degree or an equivalent academic qualification in Education, Humanities, Psychology, English language, or Arts.
** Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a teacher.
** Must be able to work collaboratively in a pair and ensure a child-centered, child-friendly educational process focused on motivating children.
** Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to establish effective communication and relationships with children and adults — including parents, colleagues, and guests.
English Language Proficiency
Recommended Minimum Level:
B2 (Upper-Intermediate)
** Ability to speak fluently on everyday topics
** Accurate use of grammar
** Natural communication with children
** Ability to give clear and understandable instructions
Ideal Level: - C1 (Advanced)
Duties of the Lead Teacher
** Develop the weekly schedule and program in accordance with the Montessori method.
** Supervise the assistant educator to ensure the proper implementation of the teaching process.
** Demonstrate dignity and respect toward each child.
** Plan activities that support each child`s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.
** Manage emergencies.
** Oversee and manage a group of up to 20 students simultaneously.
** Create and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all students in the classroom.
** Plan the curriculum and themes for the entire class throughout the academic year, as well as plan kindergarten lessons for the extended day program.
** Prepare the environment daily to ensure it is attractive and engaging for children (including regularly updating and rotating materials).
** Promote positive discipline in the classroom to foster mutual respect.
** In cooperation with the administration, plan and conduct meetings with parents of the children in the class; maintain records and documentation regarding children`s development.
** Report to the administration on necessary repairs or replacement of equipment, required technical maintenance in the classroom, other parts of the building, or playground, and take responsibility for reordering supplies when needed.
Assistant Teacher
** A person who loves children and has strong communication skills.
** Must hold a Bachelor`s degree;
** Must have at least 1 year of experience working as a teacher or working with children.
Assistant Teacher Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the daily planned program, including:
** Demonstrating dignity and respect toward each child;
** Identifying and considering each child`s individual needs according to their cultural and socio-economic background, disabilities, special talents and interests, as well as their learning style and pace;
** Supporting children in developing creative thinking, independent problem-solving skills, and respect for themselves and others;
** Encouraging the development of self-care skills;
** Preventing injuries and, in case of injury, properly managing emergencies, accidents, and incidents according to established procedures;
** Sharing responsibility with the Lead Teacher for maintaining classroom cleanliness.
Other Required Personal Qualities and Skills
** Sociability and patience: empathy and calmness;
** Creativity: ability to plan activities and games;
** Organizational skills: time management and effective organization of tasks;
** High sense of responsibility;
** Ability to understand and act in accordance with recommendations and requirements set by the management team.
Additional Conditions
The Lead Educator employed by LLC "Montessori Universe" is required, at the employer`s expense, to complete a 6-month online training in Montessori methodology starting in April 2026, after which they will receive an international certificate.
