PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

Mercy Corps is implementing a program "Safe Online: Promoting Safety and Empowering Women in the Digital Economy" (Safe Online) that operates in targeted areas of Georgia and Armenia to advance economic growth through democratizing digital transformation and online safety for women in business. The program emphasizes reducing online violence and enhancing women`s and all workers capacity to benefit from digital platforms, particularly in the tourism and agriculture sectors.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Development Specialist supports the growth and digital integration of tourism-related businesses by fostering partnerships, enhancing e-commerce engagement, and promoting safe participation in the digital ecosystem. The role involves stakeholder coordination, mentorship, and business analysis to drive sustainable development and alignment with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

** Identify and engage tourism-related businesses across the following sectors: hospitality, travel services, ecotourism, tour guiding, entertainment, and events platforms.
** Develop and adapt the Mercy Corps questionnaire and its mission statement.
** Design or adapt a toolkit to prevent online violence and improve digital marketing and sales strategies, in coordination with relevant digital ecosystems.
** Define and contextualize key concepts such as e-commerce and online violence within the tourism and agrarian sectors.
** Support the development of a secure and inclusive digital ecosystem by coordinating closely with electronic platforms to enable safe and secure digital sales and interaction.
** Organize forums (both online and in-person) with selected businesses and stakeholders to promote registration and active participation in the digital ecosystem.
** Build and strengthen partnerships with entities in hospitality, travel services, ecotourism, agriculture, tour guiding and entertainment/events sectors.
** Provide mentorship and peer-to-peer consulting to support business growth and digital engagement.
** Conduct business analysis to identify opportunities, challenges and performance improvements.
** Coordinate communication and collaboration between businesses and e-commerce platforms.
** Monitor business development activities, ensuring alignment with digital ecosystem goals.
** Produce regular reports and analysis on business development progress and impact.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

** Bachelor`s or/and Master`s in Human Rights, Social Sciences, International Development, or Business
** 3+ years` experience in digital business or international project implementation.
** Experience working with entrepreneurs, associations, MSMEs.
** Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
** Fluency in Georgian and English.
** Willingness to travel regionally.
