Newton Free School is seeking an outstanding MYP Service as Action (SA) and Personal Project (PP) Coordinator for the IB Diploma Programme.
Responsibilities:
** Lead the planning and delivery of student workshops to develop essential skills for both SA and PP.
** Develop, maintain, and communicate clear timelines, expectations, and guidance for students, parents, and supervisors for both SA and PP.
** Support students in connecting SA experiences to the MYP curriculum, collaborating with subject teachers to meaningfully integrate these components into classroom learning.
** Establish and maintain positive relationships with community partners to create new SA opportunities, while also supporting authentic contexts for PP inquiry when relevant.
** Assign supervisors to students for both SA and PP, ensuring appropriate support for all learners.
** Supervise students` SA and PP projects.
** Train and support supervisors in both SA and PP to ensure consistency in guidance, documentation, and assessment practices.
** Monitor and support student progress in both SA and PP, ensuring meaningful engagement, timely completion, and adherence to IB standards.
** Lead the development, annual review, and dissemination of handbooks, support materials, and documentation for both SA and PP.
** Ensure all records (e.g., reflections, academic honesty forms, supervisor feedback, final achievement levels) are accurately maintained and updated on platforms like ManageBac.
** Ensure consistency and fairness in assessment practices for PP, coordinating standardization and alignment with IB guidelines.
** Organize and lead major student-led events such as SA activities and the PP exhibition, providing opportunities for students to showcase their learning and impact.
** Conduct risk assessments for SA experiences and ensure appropriate safety measures are in place.
** Collaborate with the DP CAS Coordinator to ensure continuity and a smooth transition from SA in the MYP to CAS in the Diploma Programme.
** Report directly to the Principal and the MYP Coordinator.
Requirements:
** Strong command of the English language.
** Previous experience working with students aged 11-18 is an asset.
** Commitment and passion for teaching.
** Proficiency in IT and strong interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents.
** A high level of professionalism and consideration for the well-being of students.
** A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom.
