Position Overview

We are seeking a Legal & Compliance Manager to manage all legal and compliance-related matters for CityPay.io`s operations in Georgia. This role is responsible for overseeing legal processes, identifying and mitigating legal risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing legal support to management and internal stakeholders.

The Legal & Compliance Manager will act as the key legal contact for the Georgian entity and will work closely with management, regulators, and external legal advisors.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Management & Risk Assessment

** Manage the company`s legal processes and identify, analyze, and mitigate legal risks related to business operations.
** Provide clear and practical legal opinions and advice to management to support informed business decision-making.
** Draft, review, and update legal documents related to internal and external operations, including contracts, NDAs, partnership agreements, and service agreements.

Regulatory Compliance

** Continuously monitor local and relevant international regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
** Communicate with regulatory authorities and manage legal or compliance-related reporting, when required.
** Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures aligned with regulatory expectations.

Employment Law & HR Legal Support

** Draft, review, and update employment contracts in accordance with Georgian labor legislation.
** Provide legal support for internal HR policies, including their implementation, amendment, approval, and entry into force.
** Support employment termination processes, ensuring legal compliance and proper documentation.
** Advise HR and management on labor law matters and employee relations issues.

Data Protection & Privacy

** Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR principles and other applicable standards.
** Review and maintain data protection documentation, policies, and internal procedures.
** Advise the company on data privacy risks and mitigation measures.

External Stakeholder & Advisor Management

** Coordinate and manage relationships with external legal advisors and consultants.
** Liaise with regulators and authorities as required on legal and compliance matters.

Compliance Culture & Training

** Enhance legal and compliance awareness among employees through internal training sessions, guidelines, and regular communication.
** Promote a culture of compliance across the organization.

Qualifications:

** Law degree (LLB or equivalent); qualification under Georgian law is an advantage.
** Minimum 5+ years of professional legal experience, preferably in fintech, financial services, or regulated industries.
** Solid knowledge of Georgian labor law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
** Experience with internal compliance frameworks, legal risk management, and regulatory communication.
** Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
** Ability to work independently and manage legal matters at a local entity level.
** Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
