Pakka Georgia LTD is a Swiss company active in Georgian hazelnut sector since 2009. We are positioning ourselves as a major nut processor and exporter from Georgia and on the way to become the first fair trade and organic hazelnut producer.
Established in 2018 in Switzerland, Pakka Foundation enhances the living conditions of smallholder farmers, their communities and local processing companies through the development and promotion of sustainable, organic production and processing. In Georgia, Pakka Foundation partners with economic actors, including Pakka Georgia, to develop a fair organic hazelnut and almond value chain for European premium markets. Focus lies on supporting farmers and processors in organic and fair-trade production and harvesting, post-harvest management, and access to premium markets.

Pakka Georgia Ltd, in partnership with Pakka Foundation, is looking for talented professional for the position of Certification Advisor in Kvareli.

General Position Overview:

The Certification Advisor ensures that farmers and associations meet and maintain organic and other premium certification standards, directly contributing to the project`s outputs on market access, quality assurance, and income generation.
The role combines technical, organizational, and documentation support to guarantee compliance, establish Internal Control Systems (ICS), and manage interactions with external certification bodies.

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

** Lead the design, planning, and implementation of the certification roadmap for farmers and associations.
** Train and coach farmers, association leaders, and Field Advisors on certification standards (e.g., EU Organic, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance).
** Support the establishment and operation of Internal Control Systems (ICS) within farmer associations.
** Conduct internal audits and guide corrective action plans to maintain compliance.
** Collaborate with Field Advisors to ensure farmers implement practices aligned with certification requirements.
** Prepare and maintain all documentation required for certification audits, including farmer lists, traceability records, and inspection reports.
** Coordinate with certification bodies and accompany external auditors during inspections.
** Monitor certification progress and report on achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
** Contribute to market development activities by linking certified producers with potential buyers of premium products.

Expected Outputs:

** Farmers and associations certified under organic and/or premium standards.
** Fully functional Internal Control Systems operating within associations.
** Successful completion of external certification audits.
** Comprehensive and up-to-date certification documentation and traceability systems.
** Increased access of certified farmers to premium markets.

Qualifications & Skills:

** In-depth understanding of organic and premium certification standards (EU Organic, Fairtrade, etc.).
** Experience working with smallholder farmers and group certification systems.
** Familiarity with Internal Control System development and documentation requirements.
** Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
** Experience working with certification bodies and audit procedures.
** Ability to train and mentor farmers and project staff on certification principles.
** Strong commitment to quality assurance and transparency.
** Proficiency in Georgian and English.
