The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), as an Implementing Agency of the Climate Smart Irrigation Sector Development Program (CSISDP) is soliciting applications for the position of Mechanical Engineer.
The project implementation unit (PIU) is looking for Mechanical Engineer, who will support overall tasks of the projects related to Mechanical Engineering issues.
The Consultant shall be responsible for:
(i) Assist the CSISDP Project Manager in reviewing detailed design and monitoring progress of Kvemo Samgori modernization.
(ii) Coordinate and facilitate field work of PIU staff and PIC and GA.
(iii) Support all implementation activities in the Kvemo Samgori area, including site clearance construction, safeguards compliance, social and gender development, etc.
(iv) Oversee the activities of contractors in Kvemo Samgori scheme modernization.
(v) Provide data and information to the CSISDP Project Manager for engineering aspects of project progress reports and the PCR.
The individual consultant shall meet the following qualification and experience requirements:
1. The successful applicant shall meet the following minimum requirements:
Qualification: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
General experience: At least 7 years of experience in in the design, implementation and management of mechanical systems, preferably with experience in ADB or other international development organization projects.
Specific experience: Extensive previous experience in working with mechanical modelling and design software.
Skills: Strong knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and best practices related to irrigation systems. Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks. Proficiency in English language.
The consultant will be engaged initially for 12 months period, wit possibility of contract extension.
Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultants Recruitment procedures set out in Asian Development Banks guidelines.
