The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is announcing an internship position under the Project "Digital Transformation of SMEs in Eastern Partnership Countries".

Duration of employment: 6 months (01.12.2025 - 31.05.2026)

1. Background

The DT4SME project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Eastern Partnership countries (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine) through digital transformation. The mission of the project is to accelerate the digitalization of SMEs by providing them with practical tools, tailored insights, and strategic resources that enable the shift from traditional business models to innovative, technology-driven operations. By supporting this transition, the project seeks to make SMEs more resilient, sustainable, and competitive in today`s rapidly evolving global economy.
The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and will run until February 2027.

1. Responsibilities

The project is seeking a national intern to provide support for the project in overall project implementation. The main tasks of the intern include:

** Administrative support: scheduling meetings, compiling documents, taking notes of meetings; assisting in event/workshop/training planning and organizing; assisting in procurement of goods and services in line with the GIZ regulations
** Data collection: assisting with data collection and entry per project component, analyzing data and preparing brief reports, following up on tasks and deliverables, contributing to reporting
** Communication: drafting mails, agendas, invitations, presentations, press releases and other communication materials
** Miscellaneous support: providing any additional assistance the project team may require.

2. Required qualifications, competences, and experience:

Qualifications and competences:

** Last-year Bachelor`s student or recent graduate in social sciences, public administration, international relations, business management, statistics, or a related field.
** Proactive, solution-oriented, and open-minded, with high sense of responsibility and a strong interest in working for an international development organization.
** Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high data quality.
** Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
** Ability to handle multiple deadlines and manage time effectively to support various tasks simultaneously.
** Strong ability to work in a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment

Experience:

** Any prior internships or roles in project support, administration or data management
** Experience in accurate data entry and use of digital systems or Excel-based databases will be an asset
** Experience to project-based work in internships, or other roles. Having worked in environments where project goals, deadlines, and deliverables were part of the responsibility.

Other competencies:

** Good working knowledge of computer applications (MS Office, e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
** Georgian on a native level; fluent written and oral knowledge of English (B2). German language skills are an asset.
** Ability to effectively use various digital systems and platforms, with a flexible and proactive attitude toward learning new tools and processes.
** High level of cultural sensitivity and non-discriminatory attitude
** Willingness to contribute to innovation and continuous learning
** Readiness to undertake duty trips when needed
** International experience (i.e. studying abroad) is an asset

Working hours: The intern will work on a full-time schedule, amounting to 40 hours per week. The specific working days will be determined in consultation with the project team.
