Role Overview:
The Design Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising all design activities within the company, ensuring that architectural, engineering, and construction design deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and compliance. This role serves as a critical link between clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of design packages on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
** Lead and manage the design team, allocating tasks and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
** Develop, review, and approve design concepts, drawings, and technical documentation.
** Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architecture, structural, MEP, interior, landscape) to ensure integration and consistency across all project phases.
** Manage design schedules, budgets, and resources in alignment with project requirements.
** Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to interpret design requirements and ensure expectations are met.
** Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, sustainability standards, and company policies.
** Ensure effective document management using design/project platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM, Revit).
** Support tendering processes by preparing and reviewing technical specifications and design-related documentation.
** Monitor risks and propose mitigation strategies related to design scope, cost, and deadlines.
** Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering professional growth and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
** Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
** Minimum 5 years of proven experience in design management within the construction/engineering industry.
** Experience in managing and delivering international projects
** Strong knowledge of design standards, building codes, and construction methodologies.
** Proficiency in design and project management software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Procore, MS Project, etc.).
** Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
** Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
** Fluent English required; Other languages are an advantage.
