Are you our orchard operation manager?
CB Georgia LLC is a Georgian company cultivating, high quality hazelnuts, The hazelnuts are primarily intended for the production chocolate bars of a swiss owned family company.
We have an exciting opportunity for a manager to be part of the launch of our new 650ha hazelnut orchard. The project is based in Khornabuji, near Tsnori in Kakheti and it will provide
you with an opportunity to practice your leadership and agricultural skills.
We are looking for a Georgian citizen, or resident, with agricultural and managerial experience; ideally, you also have some experience in farming in other European countries.
Duties and responsibilities:
** Manage orchard in line with best practice.
** Supervise staff including temporary/seasonal workers.
** Maintain irrigation schedules and irrigation equipment.
** Carry out soil, leaf, pests and weeds inspections.
** Create and implement fertilization and pest management schedules.
** Schedule repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
** Observe and respect all health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
** Handy-women/man, willing to be on the land every day and to live in Tsnori or nearby.
** Graduated Bachelor`s degree in Agriculture, agronomy, or equivalent.
** Practical experience of working with fruit tree cultivation.
** English or German or French as a second language.
** Good planning and team management skills.
** A passion for agroforestry agriculture.
** Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
** Extensive experience in a west European farming-related field is a plus.
** Management experience is a real plus.
You are open-minded, look forward to new challenges, and are used to working in the countryside alone and with a small team. You are an astute problem solver and focused onefficiency and a hands-on approach to management.
