Caritas Georgia is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Community and Volunteerism Development Program Officer.
Position Overview
The Community and Volunteerism Development Program Officer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and coordination of the community and volunteering projects that strengthen communities and create meaningful impact that contributes to the success of Caritas Georgia`s mission and goals. The Community and Volunteerism Development Program Officer works collaboratively and reports to the Program Manager to execute strategic initiatives.
Full-time position (40 hours per week)
Salary - 1700 Gel (gross)
Location - Tbilisi
Key Responsibilities
** Assist in designing and implementation of the community and volunteerism development projects that align with organizational objectives.
** Ensure projects meet objectives, deadlines, budgetary requirements, and quality standards.
** Prepare regular reports for the Program Manager on program activities and outcomes.
** Working with financial documents within the projects in accordance with the Caritas Georgia internal regulations and national standards.
** Monitor projects impact and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
** Assist in the development of digital communication platforms of the program.
** Assist in developing program promotional materials.
Community Development
** Assist the program manager to strengthen partnerships with local governments and organizations, community groups, businesses and schools.
** Assist in community assessments to identify needs and opportunities for engagement.
** Assist in designing and implementation of the community development strategies and projects.
** Assist program manager in developing budgets, managing resources, and ensuring efficient use of funds for community development projects.
** Update community development-related content across various channels.
** Organize promotional activities in the target communities.
Volunteerism Development
** Assist in development of the local and international volunteer roles and create strategies to ensure their active engagement and impact in projects.
** Coordinate recruitment of new volunteers and ensure their retention through training, recognition, and support.
** Implementation/development of mechanisms for volunteer participation in strategic decision-making processes.
** Foster a strong volunteer network by promoting internal communication platforms and opportunities for skills development.
** Coordinate volunteer activities, ensuring they align with program goals and community needs.
** Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and performance through the various tracking systems.
** Provide direct support to volunteers and address their concerns.
Qualifications:
Required
** 2+ years of experience in the field of community development or youth work
** Strong organizational and administrative skills
** Fluency in Georgian and English (additional languages are a plus).
** Experience with data collection and reporting
** Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
** Detail-oriented with good time management
Preferred
** Master`s degree in related field
** Experience working in a nonprofit setting
** Knowledge of best practices in community development and volunteering
