The Peace Corps is a U.S. Agency working in over 60 countries around the world. The Peace Corps established a program in Georgia in 2001 at the invitation of the Government of Georgia. As a non-political, non-commercial, and non-religious agency, Peace Corps Georgia contributes to the expressed social and economic development needs of Georgia while promoting a better understanding between Americans and Georgians. In 2001, the first group of 21 Volunteers worked alongside Georgian teachers in secondary education English teaching assignments. Since that time, over 900 Volunteers have served in Georgia, exchanging skills with their Georgian counterparts, supervisors, and community members; sharing American culture; and bringing a part of Georgian culture back home to the United States. The 22nd group of Volunteers will arrive in April 2025. All Volunteers will complete an 11-week intensive Pre-Service Training (PST) in Georgia before beginning their service.

Peace Corps Georgia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of:
Individual and Organizational Development (IOD) Project Training Assistant.

Tentative Dates of contract:

March 12 - July 3, 2025
• March 12 - March 31 in Tbilisi (Training of Trainers, Preparation, Orientation Week)
• April 1 - June 27 in surrounding communities of Gori (PST main phase)
• June 30 - July 3 (Swearing-In Ceremony in Tbilisi, PST wrap-up)

The Individual and Organizational Development (IOD) Project Training Assistant will work in a team with other Trainers and in coordination with the Training Manager and Individual and Organizational Development (IOD) Program Manager. They will be responsible for assisting in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of IOD technical training competencies within the 11-week Pre-Service Training (PST) for Peace Corps trainees. Through the expertise of the Trainer, by the end of the training period Peace Corps Trainees will have gained the required competencies the knowledge, skills and attitudes (KSAs) to support community development through assisting local organizations and community groups in organizational development and management, project planning and implementation. This position may require travel between training villages and the main training site in Gori.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

** Attends and participates in all pre-PST planning meetings and activities;
** In collaboration with the Training Manager, Program Manager, assists the IOD project Trainer in developing and planning a training program, referencing the existing standard in the Volunteer Competency Model, Continuum of Learning and Assessment for the IOD project which incorporates the philosophy for development;
** Reviews relevant technical training materials including written training designs, prepares trainees` materials, handouts, visual aids, presentations, etc. Assists in the design of more suitable materials when existing ones do not meet the needs of the training program;
** Compiles and documents all training materials weekly;
** Assists in the assessment of the overall technical training component with particular reference to the testing for competencies;
** Assists in preparation and administration of competency testing of Trainees to ensure they meet technical training KSAs;
** Assists in the creation of a training plan that includes field trips, resource speakers, audio/visual/written materials and other resources needed to best implement the technical training program;
** Co-facilitates (or facilitates - as assigned by IOD Project Trainer and Training Manager) technical sessions based on project competencies, linking and integrating other training components with technical training;
** Assists in planning of relevant practicums and field based interventions to provide Trainees with opportunities to practice knowledge obtained during classroom instructions;
** Observes practicum and provides feedback and issues recommendations to trainees, based on observations and other assessment tools. Acts as a resource, as needed;
** Participates in regular staff meetings and contributes to training programming decisions to provide feedback to other staff members and to assist in the coordination and integration of activities among all training components, both technical or non-technical;
** Supports IOD Project Trainer in preparing weekly and final evaluation reports for the Training Manager according to the established format;
** Assists in the closeout of the training site, including inventory, packing, and/or storage of all technical materials;
** Supports IOD Project Trainer in preparing and submitting a final PST report following an established format to the Training Manager;
** Coordinates and collaborates with all PST staff as needed;
** Is a model of cultural integration, and is respectful of local customs by representing Peace Corps in a positive manner on all occasions and respecting the productive relationship already established by post and its staff;
** Works as a member of a team willing to work long hours while maintaining a positive, flexible, and constructive attitude and by maintaining a high level of motivation, seriousness, and belief in Peace Corps` mission;
** Performs other duties as required by the Training Manager within the scope if their role.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

** Bachelor`s Degree (preferably in management, development studies, international relations, social sciences);
** Prior experience in working as a trainer or training assistant;
** Demonstrated presentation skills;
** Good understanding of Georgian Civil Society Organization sector;
** Good organizational and logistical skills;
** Fluency in written and spoken English and Georgian is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

** Experience in working or internship with non-governmental organizations or business support/development organizations, community groups and community project activities;
** Experience working within cross-cultural teams;
** Prior experience working with Americans and/or experience living abroad;
** Basic experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms and/or virtual facilitation;
** Prior experience working for International Organizations, especially with similar training programs;

** Staff must live full-time in the training site for a period of 11 weeks and attend orientation training which will be held in Tbilisi. Staff should arrange accommodation in Tbilisi on their own, the Peace Corps will provide accommodation in Gori, as needed.
