The University of Georgia Announces an Open Competition for Academic Positions in the Following Areas:
School of Science and Technology
1.1. Academic position of a Professor in Materials and Construction (1 vacancy).
The candidate must be able to teach the following courses:
** Building Materials
** Concrete Technology + Lab
** Soil Mechanics + Lab
** Engineering Geology
** Environmental Engineering
1.2. Academic Position of an Associate Professor in Transportation Engineering (1 vacancy).
The candidate must be able to teach the following courses:
** Road Construction
** Transportation Engineering
** Principles of Foundation Engineering
** Principles of Earthquake Engineering
** Engineering Surveying
1.3. Academic Position of an Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering (1 vacancy).
Criteria for Selection:
Main Criteria:
1. Education: Academic degree of Doctor.
2. Scientific-Pedagogical Activity:
- Professors must have at least 6 years of experience in scientific-pedagogical work.
- Associate Professors must have at least 3 years of experience in scientific-pedagogical work.
3. Scientific Publications: Preference will be given to candidates with publications indexed in Scopus over the last 5 years.
4. Language Skills: Ability to conduct lectures in English.
Additional Criteria:
5. Submission of syllabus/syllabi demonstrating adequacy of content, learning outcomes, and methods for achieving them.
6. Vision for research activities within the University of Georgia.
7. Participation in conferences/seminars within the last 5 years.
8. Involvement in professional development activities.
9. Proficiency in office technologies.
Additional Information:
1. Candidates may be asked to conduct a demo lecture.
2. The selected candidates must affiliate with the University of Georgia. A verified Google Scholar profile linked to the University of Georgia email address (@ug.edu.ge) is required.
3. Application Period: January 8-9, 2026. Submit documents electronically to academicvacancy@ug.edu.ge or physically to Kostava St., Tbilisi, #77a, 4th Building, Room #514, 0171.
Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
4. Competition Dates: January 12-13, 2026.
5. Appeals Process: Complaints may be submitted on January 15, 2026.
6. Publication of Results: Winners will be announced on January 20, 2026, at www.ug.edu.ge.
